Kamala Harris on cease-fire negotiations: 'We've got to get those hostages out'
Vice President Kamala Harris, asked outside a campaign event in Pennsylvania whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is prepared to agree to a ceasefire, said that the U.S. is not giving up.
"I will not speak for him, but I will tell you these conversations are ongoing, and we're not giving up. We're going to continue to work very hard on this. We've got to get a cease-fire and we've got to get those hostages out," Harris said.

U.S. President Joe Biden, when asked about the status of cease-fire talks between Israel and Hamas after landing at Joint Base Andrews on Sunday, said "It's still underway, we're not giving up, [it's] still possible."

Israel's Central Command chief holds assessment at scene of West Bank attack
The head of the Israeli army's Central Command, Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, conducted a nighttime situation assessment at the scene of an attack in a West Bank industrial area near the settlement of Kedumim and said that "This is a very serious attack.
"We are in pursuit of a criminal terrorist and we will deal with him soon. At the same time, we will investigate [the incident] in depth in order to learn and try to prevent similar incidents in the future," Bluth continued.
The Israeli army said that many soldiers – including special forces – are now operating in the area, setting up blockades and continuing to search for the assailant.

Blinken speaks with Saudi Arabian foreign minister, thanks him for transferring aid to Gaza
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Sunday and discussed the ongoing work to advance a cease-fire and prevent regional escalation, according to a statement released by a State Department spokesperson.
Blinken emphasized the U.S.'s concerns about the Houthis recent actions in Yemen, and thanked the foreign minister for his country's role in facilitating the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza, according to the statement.

Man carrying bomb killed in explosion in Tel Aviv; Police, Shin Bet investigating possible terror attack
A man in his 50s was killed in an explosion in Tel Aviv, and a passerby was moderately wounded. The identity of the deceased man is still unknown.
The Shin Bet is investigating the incident, and the police said all possible motives are being looked at, including terror. The explosion caused significant damage to a truck, though police reported the source of the explosion had been a device carried by the man himself.

Hamas says new U.S. proposal on Gaza cease-fire accommodates Netanyahu's new demands, prevents deal
In its first official statement since the summit in Doha, Hamas said the U.S. proposal – presented with the intention to bridge existing gaps – accommodates the new demands of Prime Minister Netanyahu and prevents further agreement on a deal.
"Netanyahu is setting new conditions to sabotage the negotiations, including continued control over the Philadelphi route, the Rafah crossing, and the Netzarim corridor," Hamas said, adding that the new demands do not meet its conditions regarding the release of security prisoners. Hamas emphasized that "Netanyahu bears full responsibility for thwarting the mediation efforts and derailing the agreement."

Victim of West Bank attack named as 38-year-old Gideon Perry
The victim of the West Bank attack, in which a Palestinian laborer killed an Israeli security guard near the settlement of Kedumim, has been named as Gideon Perry, 38.
Perry is survived by his wife, Ella, and their three children – Yifa, Alma, and Regev. He worked at a factory in the industrial area near Kedumim and managed a musical instrument store. Since the beginning of the war, Perry had been serving in the reserves in the north and the Gaza Strip.
The head of the Kedumim Council, Uziel Vetik, eulogized him: "Gideon was a dear and beloved friend, a family man, and a man of kindness who was the first to volunteer for any task."
